This St. Patrick’s Festival, join us on a journey where you’ll learn more about the history of the National Theatre of Ireland and the people who created it. You’ll get to explore our extensive portrait collection and walk in the footsteps of literary and theatrical legends as you explore key parts of the building.
See how brilliant plays to come to life and discover how directors, designers and makers bring some of Ireland’s most iconic plays from the page to the stage.
We have 6 tours happening on Sunday the 15th of March and they are suitable for everyone over the age of 10.
After your tour, you can treat yourself to a coffee or tea and a bun for only 5 Euro in our café Pegeen’s.

Good to know:
Our St. Patrick’s Festival tours start in the Abbey foyer – please arrive 10 minutes before your tour if possible. You can enjoy a delicious drink or snack in our café while you wait.
Our tours cross multiple levels and involves stairs. Please let us know if you have any mobility needs, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Due to the fact that we are a working theatre, our tours cannot guarantee access to the auditorium as it is often in use.
