Marching Bands
Every year, we welcome marching bands from all over the world to join us for the national St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin on March 17th! This year we are delighted to welcome marching bands travelling from Scotland and the United States, including eight American bands from Ohio, Arizona, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Mississippi, Indiana and Texas.

Coppell, Texas is located in the northeast portion of the Dallas/Fort
Worth Area. Population size is 39,000 and rising. Coppell has been has
been awarded consecutive years of “Best Suburb in Texas”

Watertown High School Gosling Marching Band
The Gosling Marching Band is the marching component of Watertown High School’s comprehensive music program that also includes three concert bands, two jazz ensembles, a basketball pep band, musical theatre pit orchestra, and several chamber music ensembles, as well as offering courses in music technology, beginning guitar, rock history, and music theory.
Cedar Rapids Metro Marching Band
The combined marching band of the Cedar Rapids metro area high schools, known as the Cedar
Rapids Metro Marching Band, includes students from Jefferson, Kennedy, Linn-Mar, Marion,
Prairie, Washington, and Xavier High Schools. This combined ensemble creates and enjoys a
high level of success in performance, presentation, and audience enjoyment. .
The bands travel extensively throughout the United States and have been featured in numerous
parades and festivals including the Tournament of Roses and Holiday Bowl Parades in
California, the Orange Bowl, Citrus Bowl, and Walt Disney World Parades in Florida, and the
Fiesta Bowl Parade in Arizona. This performance marks the third time the Cedar Rapids Metro Marching Band has travelled to Ireland to march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. They previously appeared in 2013 and 2022.

Clondalkin Youth Band
This year, Clondalkin Youth Band has the esteemed honour of being first band in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, an achievement that highlights their talent and dedication. Following their performance in the capital, the band will return to their roots to take part in the Clondalkin Parade, bringing their music and energy back to their local community.
But the celebrations don’t stop there—over the weekend, CYB will also head to Limerick to compete in the prestigious International Band Championships, where they hope to make their mark once again.
South Jones High School Marching Band
The South Jones Band of Braves was founded in 1965 with the opening of South Jones High School in
Ellisville, Mississippi, and has proudly served the Jones County School District ever since. Under the
leadership of Superintendent Dr. B. R. Jones, the Band of Braves has grown into one of the region’s most
respected and accomplished music programs.
From its earliest days, the band has maintained a tradition of excellence, consistently earning superior
ratings at festivals and competitions in both marching and concert performance. That commitment to
musical artistry, discipline, and teamwork has taken the Band of Braves across the United States, where
they have performed for audiences nationwide while representing their school, community, and state
with pride
University Of Illinois Marching Illini
The Marching Illini represents a tradition unlike any other. Beginning as a student run
organization in 1868, the Marching Illini has grown to be recognized as one of the nation’s
premier college marching bands, entertaining millions of fans throughout the world with
traditional and innovative performances spanning more than 157+ years.
In the 1920’s, John Philip Sousa called the Illinois Band the “World’s Greatest College Band.”
Superlatives like this have come to be expected during the long and illustrious history of the
University of Illinois Bands.
The unique style of the Marching Illini represents a combination of time-honored traditions and
exciting innovations. The Marching Illini is a select organization which annually includes many of
the University of Illinois’ finest and most dedicated students. Three hundred and seventy five
members STRONG, its members represent academic units across the Urbana-Champaign
campus.
The Ohio State University Marching Band
The Ohio State University Marching Band performs for all home football games, selected away games, post–season bowl games and additional events throughout the autumn season. The nationally recognized, 228-piece “Pride of the Buckeyes” is one of the few collegiate all-brass-and-percussion bands in the United States and is acknowledged as the largest of its type in the world. Many marching band innovations were first tried and developed at Ohio State. Among them are floating and animated formations, measured-step marching, script writing, the fast cadence with a high knee lift, and the enhancement of rehearsals and performances through the implementation of new technologies. Brass instruments especially designed for marching bands were also first used at Ohio State. In 2013, the band garnered national attention for using iPads, a sustainable alternative to paper charts and music, to facilitate its rehearsal process. More recently, the band cheered the Buckeyes on to victory at the first-ever expanded College Football Playoff National Championship game in January 2025. The band took its talents abroad in October 2015 for a performance at an NFL International Series game at Wembley Stadium in London, marched in the 2018 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City along with the 2019 and 2022 and 2024 Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game in California. The band has also made appearances at the Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Peach Bowl, Sugar Bowl within the last 10 years. Grounded in tradition yet propelled by innovation, The Ohio State University Marching Band, year in and year out, lives up to its nickname: The Best Damn Band in the Land.
