A THISISPOPBABY & St. Patrick’s Festival presentation.

A provocative talks programme that amplifies and contextualises the works in Where We Live, curated and hosted by Willie White and presented in association with Dublin Theatre Festival. The talks explore the politics, imagination and desires that shape the city that we hope to call home, with topics including gentrification, nightlife, technology, identity and homelessness. Town Hall Session’s running 9-16 March. See full programme here.

This Party’s Over

16 March. 6.30pm

For years, in broke and beleaguered places, outsiders have gathered underground, after dark and at the margins to cut loose and create communities. Today, speculation, gentrification and monotonous development mean that the mainstream is overwhelming and erasing alternative spaces. How can a city flourish if there’s nowhere for different people to hang out and it’s impossible to get a party started? With Amy Lamé (American -British performer, TV Presenter, Duckie, Royal Vauxhall Tavern London), Give Us the Night (Dublin nighttime activist group) and more to be announced.

WHERE WE LIVE is a ferocious response to the theme of home. It’s a kaleidoscope of stories about what it feels like to live in Dublin and Ireland today, told by some of the best storytellers on the island.

A programme of commissioned theatre pieces, work-in progress showings, dangerous ideas, live art and an exhibition.

We’re taking over the Complex in Smithfield for two weeks to tell funny, devastating, exhilarating and joyous stories that imagine and re-imagine what our city and country could be.  We’re creating a TownHall, where discussion should be heated, performance will be red hot, and where opposing views are encouraged.
